Foster Chime, Media Officer, Rangers International of Enugu on Monday apologised to fans of the club over their failure to out rightly defeat Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan.

The two played 1-1 draw in their Sunday’s game played in Enugu.

Chime told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that he was pleading with the supporters to calm down as football was an unpredictable game.

“It is unfortunate that we did not win against 3SC, but that does not mean that we deliberately failed to perform well; it is just that it was not our day.

“Winning, losing and drawing are part of football.

“And Sunday’s game was part of our unlucky day; so, let’s not cry over the past, but rather remain focused ahead of upcoming games”.

Chime observed that Rangers had also recorded some draws and wins during away matches.

He called on the supporters never lose hope, stressing that they were committed to making up for the draw in their upcoming game against Sunshine Stars FC of Akure.

The spokesman said the management had resolved to arrest their recent slide in performance.

“The management, technical crew and even the players are not happy at the eventual outcome of the match.

“They have all promised to go for a broke against Sunshine Stars,’’ Chime added.
