Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is set to commence is treatment for his shoulder injury in Spain.

The Egyptian forward was injured in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid after he landed on his shoulder from a tackle by Sergio Ramos.

Salah left the field in tears in the 30th minute unable to continue the game, with doubts placed on his World Cup participation.

However, scans revealed that the injury was a sprain in his shoulder ligaments. The Egyptian Football Association claimed afterwards that Salah would be part of the World Cup squad as he’d recover in three weeks.

Salah was instrumental to Egypt’s qualification, scoring the penalty that sealed their place in the Mundial for the first time since 1990. The 25-year old is Egypt’s most important player as he wields the team’s attacking threat.

Salah has been sensational for Liverpool scoring 44 goals in all competitions.
