SERENA Williams, who did not play in Dubai due to injury, remains well ahead atop the rankings with Australian Open champion, Angelique Kerber, who is down to play in Qatar this week, her closest rival.

Agnieszka Radwanska is up to third place in the WTA world rankings moving ahead of Simona Halep, who lost points after failing to defend her title in Dubai.

The Romanian was upset in the last 16 in the Emirates as she continues to struggle for form this year.
