St Saviours School vows to defend title, as Zenith Bank/Ikoyi Club 1938 Swimming holds today

Defending champion, St Saviours School, Ikoyi, is determined to defend its title, as the 3rd edition of the Zenith bank/Ikoyi Club 1938 inter-school swimming festival holds today in Lagos.

Defending champion, St Saviours School, Ikoyi, is determined to defend its title, as the 3rd edition of the Zenith bank/Ikoyi Club 1938 inter-school swimming festival holds today in Lagos.

The competition, which is in two folds, will commence this afternoon with 11 primary schools, while students from eight secondary schools will take their turn on Sunday, April 28.

The primary school expected to do battle at Ikoyi Club 1938 swimming pool today are Corona School in Victoria Island and Ikoyi, Children International School (CIS), Grange School, Greensprings School and Lagos Preparatory School (LPS).

Others are Meadow Hall School, Priory Preparatory School, St. Saviours School, Ebute Metta, St Saviours School, Ikoyi and Temple School, Ikoyi.

For the past four years, the Zenith bank/Ikoyi Club 1938 inter-school swimming festival has become a talent- hunting ground for swimming coaches from across the country.

The Chairman of the Swimming Section, Ikoyi Club 1938, Mr. Abayomi Ogundipe, and the Vice Chairman/Games Captain of the Swimming Section, Oloyede Obatoyinbo said that today’s event would afford the children develop their skills in swimming. Obatoyinbo thanked Zenith bank for the sponsorship, which he said would go a long way in helping the development of the game of swimming in the country.
