AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and Internazionale Milan’s Ivan Perisic are two players being courted by English Premier League clubs. Rumours have it that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to shell out cool £50 million for 21-year old Lemar and Inter have also come to terms to losing their impressive winger to resurgent Manchester United.

While these two players were outstanding for their respective clubs last season, we take a look at who is better and what they will add to the big English clubs willing to secure their services. And as usual, we present the relevant stats.

Thomas Lemar, 21 | Wanted by Arsenal

Robert Pires on Lemar
“He is a young player with good technique, a good left foot, he can do a good cross and score good goals.
“For me, he has a very good profile to play for Arsenal.”

Chris Wheatly of Goal on the winger.
Arsenal’s interest in Lemar has been sparked for a number of reasons. His astute technical ability has caught the eye of various club scouts and 14 assists in all competitions last season provides a clear demonstration of just how successfully he links up with his team-mates.
However, a willingness to improve is usually an indicator of how far a player can go at the highest level and it is Lemar’s character which has drawn Wenger to the player.

Ivan Perisic, 28 | Wanted by Manchester United

Former Manchester United coach, Rene Meulensteen on Perisic
“Perisic has good experience and pace and could come in and create things. Meulensteen told 888Sport.
“He is comfortable on the ball, can beat a man and has a fantastic pass.“It’s important that United have a man who can open up defences with one pass and he has that.“He can offer them another level of a goal threat.”

Davor Sucker on Perisic:
Perisic is incredible; he has strength, talent and a knack of scoring. In modern football, players who can make the difference are extremely valuable. He confronts the opponent one-on-one, then beats him. He’s got technical quality that gives a tremendous advantage to his team. Perisic can dribble past three players in one motion.
