The fifth edition of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission’s (TREM) Free Soccer Clinic began yesterday at the Araromi Sports Development Center, Gbagada, Lagos. Various academies, football lovers and school football teams are attending the event from different parts of Lagos.

Speaking at the unveiling of programme for the clinic sponsored by Coca-Cola, the Special Event Manager and Execution Excellence, Coca-Cola, Mrs. Martin Eyo said participants would get many packages, including 30 Coca-Cola branded football, 700 t-shirts, face caps, exercise books, biro and 150 other Coca-Cola products.

Also speaking at the occasion, Public Affairs Manager, Lagos, and West, Nigerian Bottling Company, Ifeoma Okoye said Coca-Cola aimed to promote active lifestyle and sponsorship among over 2,000 participants drawn from 100 secondary schools within Lagos State.

She applauded TREM for taking the development of grassroots football and talents development to another dimension.

At the event was also the Director of TREM Football Academy, Rev. Mrs. Elizabeth Ikem, who told The Guardian that this year’s Free Soccer Clinic was a demonstration of grace of God upon the Academy, regardless of the present economic situation, which forced some of the sponsors to back out.

She said: “But God being faithful we still have Coca-Cola, Peak Milk and Nestle Milo as our sponsors
