Wrestlers has opened camp in Yenegoa, Igali reveals
The Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) says its seven Olympic-bound wrestlers have resumed camping in Yenagoa, a top official of the federation announced.
NWF President, Daniel Igali, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday that their sparing partners were also invited for camping.
“We have no fewer than 20 wrestlers at the Yenagoa camping site as we speak. The essence is to fortify and widen the scope of our wrestlers.
“They have been camping for over a week and I have observed tremendous improvements in them. I often watch them.
“I train sometimes with them as a wrestler myself. They had been training individually in their states with their coaches but that was not enough.
“We intend to present wrestlers that are fully prepared for the tasks ahead at the Rio Games. There is no two ways about, we are going for medals,’’ he enthused.
