Worried by the falling standard of education and poor funding of the sector in 2016, students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, have called on the Federal Government to allocate more funds to the sector in 2017 fiscal year.

This was disclosed by the Senate President, ABU Students Representatives Council, Adamu Kabir Matazu, during conferment of an award of excellence, tagged Sardauna Leadership Award, to the former Director of School of Management Studies, Kano, Dr Salisu Lawan Indabawa.

According to Matazu, if not for the intervention of Tertiary Education Tax Fund (TETFUND) infrastructural development could have eluded the nation’s tertiary institutions, adding that more attention should also be accorded to TETFUND.
