BIDAPOLY to promote female students participation in sports, equip library

According to the Chief Coach, Mr. Nma Dangana, the sporting competition is to promote female participation in sports, both locally and internationally.

Mr. Dangana disclosed that female participation in sporting activities in the tertiary institutions across the country is low, adding that the co
mpetition will spur more female students to engage in sporting activities and also instill the spirit of sportsmanship in them.

He stated that different schools in the institution will bring their best team to compete with other schools, stressing that all the schools will take part in all the seven games, which are; football, basket ball, long tennis, chess, scrabble, volleyball and table tennis.

The Chief Coach also disclosed that the competition, which is going to be a yearly affair, will serve as a platform to prepare its students for the Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA).

Apart from sports, the school is also working towards upgrading its library with over 4,000 new books, e-books and academic journals.

According to the Chief Librarian, Dr. Ahmed Abdulganiyu, who disclosed this to Campusnews, the new library will help facilitate the reaccreditation of the school’s programme by the National Board Of Technical Education  (NBTE) and introduce new ones.

Abdulganiyu, also disclosed that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has provided a generator that would empower the library.
