Ayangbunre installs Agunbiade as Opomulero
The Ayangbunre of Ikorodu, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Adegorushen V., has installed the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Sanai Oyediran Bolanle (SOB) Agunbiade, as the Opomulero of Ikorodu kingdom.
The installation, which took place during the commemoration of the first year of the monarch in office, at the Ayangbunre’s palace, was used to induct other eminent indigenes of the community for their contribution to the town.
In his speech, the monarch spoke on the need to take a step further to restructure and strengthen the community’s security outfit Onyabo, considering the security challenges facing the town in recent time.
“Towards this end, I constituted a committee headed by Chief Rasaq Shodipo, to hold meetings with the security outfit, so as to seek their views on how they could be supported to be more effective.”
He enjoined sons and daughters and entire residents of the community to support him in the palace extension project, noting that the palace, which is a community property and common heritage, must reflect Ikorodu’s culture, values and sophistication.
“It is my vision, that with the cooperation and support from our good people, we can together accomplish the task to build the palace extension, get it ready for commissioning on my second year anniversary. It is expedient, just as it is achievable. Moreover, I believe that the time is now. It will add value to who we are as a people,” the monarch said.
