Hard Work Is Required For The Fulfilment Of Our Dreams

Laziness travels so slowly that poverty soon overtakes it – Benjamin Franklin

Welcome to another amazing week! As the yuletide is upon us, it is my prayer that you experience the joy of God, which has no limits and knows no bounds in Jesus name. This week we would be examining hardwork as an important ingredient for the fulfilment of dreams.

There is no future for a lazy man, therefore, we must add hard work to faith.

In Gen 39:22, we encounter Joseph as a hard worker with amazing work ethics. This is what that scripture says: “And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners that were in the prison, and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.”

He was so diligent at what he did that the management of Potiphar’s entire household was handed to him.

Evidently, he was a man of excellence because Potiphar’s house prospered under his watch.

In prison, Joseph continued to maintain his record of excellence and a while later, he was administering an entire nation rising to be the second in command to Pharaoh.

Dreams and experience are not enough to make a man great they have to be accompanied with hard work. The seeds of excellence and hard work that Joseph sowed in the house of Potiphar and the prison gave birth to his great destiny, which was the rulership of Egypt. God shows us the ‘end’ or the result of our dreams in a vision, however, without hard work, such dreams cannot be realised.

In the book of Proverbs, Solomon reiterated the importance of hard work. “He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster” (Proverbs 18:9). Great potential is lost to slothfulness. Things don’t just happen, they are ‘made’ to happen through dedication and commitment.

God’s Word provides us tremendous opportunity to rule our world. We are called to be the light of the world and consequently, pacesetters. This demands our absolute commitment in whichever field of endeavour we may be involved with. Get down to work! Work out your greatness and don’t waste time. You must determine to make each day productive because, the accumulation of your daily input results in greatness.

I dare you to be a man or woman of exploits and diligence. The reward of consistent diligence pays off tremendously.

‘For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: ‘if a man will not work, he shall not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10) NIV. Apply yourself to relevant work so that you can reap a productive harvest in life. Hardwork enables us enjoy the luxury of life without cheating.

I would like to wrap this week’s article with a quote from Neil Rudenstem who said: “I learned very early in my life that there is a direct correlation between performance and reward.”

Apply yourself to gainful work now so that in due course, you too can sit back and enjoy the many rewards of a fulfilled productive life.
Confession

I choose to see work as an opportunity to express excellence. I receive strength and grace to do what my hands find to do with all my might, for only then can your prosperity find true expression in my life. Thank you Father, in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
