Controller is anything that controls you and directs your actions and reaction to circumstances. Whatever controls you has power over you and dominates you.

There was this brother, whom the wife brought to me. Anytime he drinks, he falls into the gutter and sleeps there.

He happens to be a Masters degree holder, yet could not stop drinking. When I interviewed him, I discovered he had been drinking alcohol for 25 years.

It was a generational thing, as his father was a drunkard, who died of cirrhosis of the liver as a result of alcohol.

After deliverance, the yoke was broken. I decree today that whatever deadly controlling spirit or power controlling your life is broken in Jesus name.

Some Christians believe in moderation in consumption of alcohol, but are strongly exposed to excessive drinking. They don’t know that alcohol is a deadly controller.

Some even argue that Jesus turned water to wine in John 2:1-11, hence the liberty to drink alcohol, therefore what is the bible saying about it?

Wine in the Bible is divided into two groups— fermented wine (alcohol) known in Hebrew as “yayin”.

The other is non-fermented wine called in Hebrew “Tirosh,” which is known as fresh wine or grape juice (without alcohol). The wine in John 2:1-11, is non-alcoholic wine called fresh juice.

We are Kings and priests (Rev. 1:6). The Bible says we are not to drink wine lest we forget the laws of God or even moral laws.

As Christians, we should have control over our spirit at all time. Alcohol can lead to loss of self-control.

“It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for Kings to drink wine; nor for Princes strong drink; Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted” Prov. 31:4-5

In 1 John 4:17-19, the Bible makes us understand that Fear is another deadly controller. Fear is defined as an emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger.

It is apprehension or panic attack. It can also be false evidence appearing real (F.E.A.R).

Everyone experiences fear in life. There are big fears we are very aware of and little ones we may not even realise we have. Fear is a tool the devil uses to control us and make our lives miserable.

It begins as a thought and then creates emotions that can ruin us. Sometimes, it makes us to take foolish actions. God wants us to walk by faith and not by fear.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18.

The scripture says fear is a spirit that torments its victim. It takes away a man’s confidence and puts him in bondage.

In some cases, people fall into multiple errors or mistakes, from which some persons have died or even had high blood pressure because of the torment of fear.

Some people will never fulfil the call of God on their lives because every time they try to go forward, the devil uses fear to stop them. I want you to take inventory of your fear department.

What are you afraid of? Learn to deal with your fears. One of the ways you can overcome your fears is to face your fears.

If you’ve been afraid of something and desire to be free, the time has come to eventually face it. Just take Jesus’s Hand, acknowledge that He is with you, and do it.
“Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee.” Isaiah 41:10.

If you’re at one of those crossroads in your life, I encourage you to go forward. Don’t stand still in fear; Jesus is with you. Remember that fear controls and torment and Jesus came to deliver you from bondage.
