Becoming A Friend Of The Poor Guarantees Automatic Protection

Welcome to a brand new week. I pray that God’s protection will be yours in all your endeavours. This week, we are going to take a look at another wonderful secret to enjoying the blessing of divine protection; becoming a friend of the poor by being a blessing to them. Several years ago, God gave me an understanding of the benefits of blessing the poor. One major blessing that accrues to us, when we bless the poor, is deliverance from evil and destruction. It is such a wonderful thing, when we realise all that we can get from God, as His children.

One of the most basic ways to secure our protection is to make a decision to be a blessing to the poor.

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness,” Psalm 41:1-3 KJV.

It is amazing how people sometimes look for complex and complicated solutions to their problems and yet God has prescribed the master key, which solves these issues. When the Holy Spirit revealed the blessing of giving to the poor to me from Psalm 41:1-3 and other scriptures (like Isaiah 58:6-end), I made it a point of duty to constantly package gifts in cash or kind to bless the less privileged around me.

I am privileged to give cash, shirts, shoes, etc. to orphans, orphanages, those in crisis, the less privileged and I always pray the blessing of Psalm 41:1-3 upon my life and family. I encourage you to meditate a lot on this scripture and as you apply it, you will see the amazing blessings of giving to the poor.

“The Lord will deliver you in time of trouble; the Lord will preserve you and keep you alive….” If God will keep you alive, I don’t know which accident, fire, witch, wizard, air crash etc. that can kill you. Obedience is the master key to enjoying covenant blessings.

In our organisation, we put together special gifts for the less privileged every month, which we call “Club 58”, coined from Isaiah 58:6-13, and we have seen God’s promises fulfilled. Have great ideas of how you can help the poor – dreams to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the homeless, at your level per time. Mix these desires with faith in God’s promises and I guarantee that the blessing of Psalm 41:1-3 will become a living reality for you. “… free from enemy troubles” Psalm 41: 2b MSG.

This week, look for ways to be a blessing to someone, who needs your help. As you allow God to lead you in this regard, you can rest assured that He in turn is looking out for you! He will preserve your going out and coming in; with long life, He will satisfy you. Blessings!
See you next week!
