“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1Sam.16: 7).

It has been discovered that most people make their judgments based on what they see. We are in a world where people believe in class and what they call class is about seventy percent (70%) visual. Man does not see as God sees. Men base their judgment mainly on outward appearance. And since your product is for men and not for angels, you need to package it well.

Your Packaging Is About 4‘Ps’
Personnel

Sometimes, the way you and your staff dress will determine the progress of your company. The outward appearances of everybody in your company can either sell or not sell your products. When it was time for Joseph to appear before the king, he shaved and changed his clothing (Gen.41: 14). Joseph took time to properly package himself for the palace. He knew he doesn’t have a second chance to make the first impression. Someone said, “The way you dress is the way you’ll be addressed.” You can’t be dressed as a prince and be addressed as a prisoner.

Products
There are so many things we buy, not because of the quality of their content, but because of the quality of the container or the wrapper. If your product is good, then balance it with good packaging. Don’t let the package betray the product. Go for packaging that sells.
“ … For man looks at the outward appearance…” (1Sam.16: 7).
Ensure you package your products in such a way that it will stand out in the crowded market place.

Publicity
Any avenue you are using for publicity, either through the electronic or prints media must project your business well. We are in the most competitive age in business and you can’t afford to misrepresent your company.

The market place is becoming more busy and noisier, so you need something attractive and catchy to get people’s attention. People have more alternatives than ever, and going the extra mile in packaging your product excellently should not be compromised. The most patronised products are not necessarily the best in the market, but the most publicised.

Sometimes, your publicity gets to where you have not being before, to create first impression wherever it travels. Sometimes, people get to know you first through your publicity, and whatever they know first about you matters a lot.

Place
Your place of business must be presentable. What we see has a tremendous influence on shaping our perception; and perception is everything. The appearance of your office shapes the way people perceive your business and this ultimately determines your market worth. When King Solomon was about to build the Temple, he placed advertisement for the best hands for its construction and design. He built an edifice to the Glory of God.

Whatever money you spend on your facility is an investment. This has a way of positively affecting your sales, because people are naturally attracted to beautiful and decent places. No matter how good the food of a restaurant is, if its facility is poor, some class of people will never go near it. Turn your business place to a centre of attraction, and you will notice positive changes in your sales.

When your Four (4) Ps are in place, you will notice a great improvement in your sales or patronage. Go the extra mile in your packaging and you’ll be surprised how this can make you stand out in the market place. Outstanding companies are companies that go beyond the norms in packaging.

Our ministry started beside the dunghill, because that was all we could afford at the time. But we set a high standard for ourselves in the area of packaging and in no time we began to attract our kind and started growing. Today, we have grown so rapidly and still growing to God’s glory, in a better facility. Your packaging gives you an outstanding image that positively affects whatever you do.
