A Mammoth crowd, including members and non-members flocked the House on the Rock concert, which the church organised, last Sunday, at the Rock Cathedral church auditorium in Lekki, Lagos.

The event, which, hosted both national and international delegates include gospel artistes such as Kirk Franklin and Tim Godfrey, as the duo led delegates into moment of praise and worship sessions.

Other artistes were Frank Edwards, Mike De-Glorious, Onos, Wilson Joel, Nosa and Blessyn. The Senior Pastor of the church, Metropolitan, Paul Adefarasin, said the concert was necessary to bring faithful close to God in fellowship, while experiencing the joy of worship.

He said: “The idea is not just to tickle. It is necessary to let believers try to be the best in whatever they are involved in. There is no better way to pass across their message.”

Also speaking, Godfrey, who was excited at sharing stage with American gospel musician, Franklin said: “We are built to be fearless. This year is special for me personally, because my music has mirrored Kirk Franklin’s. He is one of the biggest influences on my musical career. It is a great honour to host the great gospel icon. I imagine that the city of Lagos and Nigeria will shake for Jesus and lives will be transformed.”

By 4pm, lots of expectant people were already at the venue. And despite the security team’s efforts to control the crowd, many people, who came after the concert had commenced, were locked outside the gate, as they were informed there was no space inside.

While some decided to go back after being denied entrance, others waited at the gate and were eventually allowed to watch the concert at a restaurant, where a big screen had been provided.
