Living for God-being on the lord’s side!

All through the ages, this has been the age-long question: “WHO IS ON THE LORD’S SIDE?” It has been the basis of the great divide. Joshua, in his valedictory speech to the Israelites, declared in Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem EVIL UNTO YOU to serve the LORD, choose you THIS DAY whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.” There is no neutrality in this great divide.

It is either you are for the LORD or against Him. And it is amazing and shocking to know from research and from generation to generation that those who are on the LORD’s side are always IN THE MINORITY. It is sad to know that despite the goodness of GOD to mankind, those who are not on the LORD’s side are IN THE MAJORITY. During the anti-diluvian dispensation, only Noah’s family was on the LORD’s side. Most people do not want to stand for God and be counted. God is always ready to pour His unusual Blessings on those who will stand and be counted for Him. The list is endless of the minority that stood for God and were blessed exceptionally. Hebrews Chapter 11 has a long list of certain individuals, who by faith, stood for God in their generation, even when it was unpopular to do so.

They were not “Nicodemus” in their relationship with God. They did not compromise with popular negative voices. They were very conspicuous with their faith in God. God calls Himself the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob because these individuals identified with God and He identified with them. Today, where do you stand in the great divide? David in his generation stood for God; publicly risked his life to face Goliath, while others were timid and did nothing about the insults being hurled on God by Goliath. In the Babylonian empire, everyone was bowing down for the golden idol erected by king Nebuchadnezzar.

But Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego did not compromise their love for God. They were resolute and defiant in bowing down to worship graven image of gold. Daniel 3: 16 “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter; But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will NOT SERVE THY gods, nor WORSHIP the golden image which thou hast set up.” They boldly declared their stand for God in a perverse generation. The Word of God declares in Nahum 1: 7 “The LORD is Good, a Strong Hold in the day of trouble; AND HE KNOWETH THEM THAT TRUST IN HIM.”

Where do you stand today in the minority (the remnant who will not defile themselves) or the majority (multitude who are in spiritual prostitution)? Those who stand for God will stand forever. They will not be diminished by the temporal challenges of this world. 1 John 2:15-17 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but HE THAT DOETH THE WILL OF GOD ABIDETH FOREVER.” Take a stand for the LORD today and everyday. You will discover it pays to stand for God.

PRAYER: I take a bold step to stand for God and with God. I am on the LORD’s Side. I belong to the LORD. The LORD JESUS is my LORD, SAVIOUR and REDEEMER. I will always STAND on the LORD’s SIDE. I will not compromise my WORSHIP and LOVE FOR THE LORD.
