2 Kings 6:17 “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, OPEN HIS EYES, that he MAY SEE. AND THE LORD OPENED THE EYES OF THE YOUNG MAN; AND HE SAW: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” Genesis 21:19 “AND GOD OPENED HER EYES, and SHE SAW A WELL OF WATER; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.” Ephesians 1:18 “THE EYES OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING BEING ENLIGHTENED; that ye may KNOW what is the HOPE OF HIS CALLING, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.”

One of the destructive limitations in life is Blindness in any form – physical, spiritual, mental, etc. It is a real tragedy to have eyes and not see – to be a billionaire and not know it – having eyes without sight. What is not seen cannot be appreciated or appropriated. What we see is what will be recognised and what we recognise is what will be appropriated. Blindness breeds ignorance and ignorance enslaves and destroys. It was said that since the creation of man, the ability to travel by air, other technological innovations, information Communication Technology (ICT), scientific advancement, etc. had all been part of human existence, but it took several centuries before mankind discovered these possibilities. The extent to which man’s eyes were opened to positive discoveries, to that extent human civilisation were enhanced and benefitted greatly. Human history talks about stone and dark ages, etc., which periods were replete with mental and spiritual blindness.

We all become products of what we see and know. John 8:32 “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Knowledge of truth and reality always deliver us from archaic technological products and analogue limitations. No matter who you are, you cannot conceive what you do not perceive because PERCEPTION gives birth to CONCEPTION and CONCEPTION always gives birth to RECEPTION. What you PERCEIVE is what you will CONCEIVE and what you CONCEIVE is what you will RECEIVE. One of the most important prayers that we must pray daily is for God to open our eyes and remove every form of blindness. Hagar and her son would have died in the wilderness, if God did not open her eyes to see a WELL OF WATER in her immediate vicinity. Hagar and her son cried for fear of dying without water, until God opened her eyes to discover God’s provision in the midst of lack or want.

The young man with Prophet Elisha was overwhelmed by the presence of an invading Syrian army, until God opened his eyes. He was comforted, when his eyes were opened to see that those who were with them were more than the Syrian army. 2 Kings 6:16 “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” Our eyes must be enlightened to know who we are in CHRIST and pursue our destiny rigorously in life. A brother had been praying for a good wife for many years, until one day, when God opened his eyes to see the treasure in a particular sister, who had been in the same Church for years.

They got married quickly after. Blindness makes us wander about without precision and direction. Despite economic recession, our eyes must be supernaturally opened to see God’s limitless opportunities around us. Those who see what others do not see, always rule over the ignorant. God has promised to give us the “TREASURES OF DARKNESS AND HIDDEN RICHES OF SECRET PLACES.” Isaiah 45: 3. Our eyes must be opened supernaturally to see what ordinary human eyes cannot see.

The eyes of our understanding must be enlightened to appropriate God’s irrevocable blessings. Genesis 13:14-15 “And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, LIFT UP NOW THINE EYES, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward; FOR ALL THE LAND WHICH THOU SEEST, TO THEE WILL I GIVE IT, and TO THY SEED FOREVER,” What you can readily see will become yours. God says if you can see it, then you can have it. Today, we MUST pray for God to OPEN OUR EYES to see things in the RIGHT PERSPECTIVE. Daily we are to seek BETTER WAYS of doing things. Spirit of excellence operates with clear insight and better ways of doing things. We come against spiritual, financial, marital, material blindness, etc., in your life in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS.

PRAYER: Father God, I pray today that You will OPEN my eyes to see accurately in the Mighty Name of JESUS. Open my eyes to see opportunities, abundance that you have provided in place of want. Open my eyes LORD and remove spiritual, financial and mental blindness. Amen.
