Beloved, God is the Author, Designer and Giver of peace. There is no perfect peace except the Lord gives it. But He gives this blessing of peace only to those that maintain good relationship with Him.

Isaiah 32:18, says, “And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.”

Before the first man, Adam ate the forbidden fruit, God gave him the Garden of Eden as his quiet resting place. But this peace was scuttled after he sinned. In the day of universal wrath, when the flood swept away a guilty race, the chosen family of Noah was quietly secured in the resting-place of the ark, which floated them from the old condemned world into the new earth.

In the time the Angel of God smote the first-born of the Egyptians, God provided safety and peace for Israel, for the Angel passed-over every doorpost with sprinkling of blood on it, as that indicated the house of Israelite.

On their way to the Promised Land, the Pillar of cloud gave the weary pilgrims sweet repose. As they journeyed in the hot desert, water and food were at their disposal at every necessary time. In those days, whenever there was any discomforting situation, they would call upon God and He would give them answer of peace.

But now, God has made Himself constantly available by the manifestation of Prince of Peace, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is Emmanuel — the God with us. By this new and better dispensation, we do not need to look around for Him, but only to believe in Him and accept Him as our Saviour and lasting peace shall be ours.

John 16: 33 says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world, ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Beloved, the warranty of peace given to all creatures is hinged only upon the victory of Christ, because the conquering power of Christ is what overpowered the trouble of the enemy. Anyone without Christ is someone with crises. So, for us to escape the trouble of the world, we must all come to Christ, because only in Him shall there be peace.

Since the fall of Adam till date, the world has been characterised by trouble and our generation is not exempted. That is why we are witnessing tension and anxiety on daily basis in every area of our lives. God, Who knows the end from the beginning, has forewarned us of diverse tribulation that will befall us, as a result of sin, such as religious crises, natural disasters, political troubles, sicknesses and diseases, financial and economic distress.

But as these troubles persist, God made a provision for an escape route in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, so that whosoever believes in Him shall have a trouble-free life in this world and be in heaven at last. The problem of today in our society is because the society has not believed and accepted Him as the Saviour and maintained a righteous relationship with Him. But if we can do this, I am assuring you, there shall be in return peace unspeakable. But if we fail on our part to seek the way of having His peace, we shall definitely continue to have crises.
