Physically challenged persons urged to trust in God
Founder of The Enabled Life, Mrs. Chinwe Promise Iroumanya, has urged people living with disabilities not to look down on themselves, but learn to put their trust in God.
At a programme organised recently in conjunction with The Kings Chamber, Lagos, she said people living with disabilities can also contribute to society’ development.
Speaking on the theme: “Spreading the message of hope,” she explained that the purpose of the event was to put smiles on the faces of people living with disabilities,
She said: “We are human and productive members of the community. My message of hope is that we can do all things through Christ.
“The programme is also an opportunity for persons living with disabilities to show their skills. We are working with more established organisations. Sometimes, there may not be money, but ordinary laughter can change so many things. We have to empower them, so they can also empower others.”
She urged government to come to the aid of people living with disabilities.
Senior Pastor of the King’s Chambers, Lagos, Rev. Afolabi Coker said the programme was aimed at showing love to all and sundry and people that are physically challenged are also part of the people to be reached out to.
“We are trying to give them the reassurance that Christ really died for them, and therefore, they should be strong in the Lord and as they continue, they will surely overcome,” he said.
