And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Gen. 1:3. Light is the great beauty and blessing of the universe and the first of all visible things.

According to the Bible in Genesis 1:1-2, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

In the above Bible passage, God the Creator of Heavens and Earth was not happy with what He saw. The Bible says, God is Light, therefore, darkness and chaos are not His will. So, the Almighty God made a pronouncement, “Let there be light,” and it was followed immediately with desired result. “And there was light.” The first day’s work is the calling of light into being. This is an act of creative power. It is a calling into existence what had not existed. That is word of God’s power.

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.” Hebrew 1:3. God demonstrated the word of His power in bringing order out of confusion.

As children of God and Christians, here are few lessons from this event:
God has authority and sovereignty over any situation. God is the supreme commander of the whole universe. He commanded light and it became visible; the thick darkness and clouds disappeared immediately. Wherever darkness and confusion is in your life, family, business, ministry, marriage, and education, the light of God will drive darkness away now in Jesus name. “By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. Psalms 33: 6-9.

Everything, anywhere must obey God’s word or command. He speaks, and it is done. His word alone contains all things necessary for the fulfilment of His will. His commands are not temporary, but eternal.

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55: 10-11.

Whenever God’s word is spoken, it must surely accomplish what it is sent to do. Therefore, I speak the word of God into your life I command barrenness, poverty, and sickness, marital failure, debt, curses, failure, evil, darkness and stagnation go in Jesus name.

Sin is darkness and all sinners are living in darkness. If you are still living in sin, you are in darkness. If you hate or don’t believe in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, you are dwelling in darkness.

“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

“For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. “But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” John 3:19-20.
