The prize

Message

Every journey of life started from the day of birth and the journey of life from childhood determines the outcome of individual’s life.

Every life is involved in a race and for every race there is a “PRIZE.”

Prize is an honour or reward striving for in a competitive contest. Prize is something given for victory or superiority in a contest. In every race of life awaits a prize either good or bad prize.

Prize may be earthly prize or heavenly prize. The earthly prize consists of God’s blessing, Miracles, Testimonies, Success, Protection, God’s goodness and mercy. The heavenly prize is the crown and the kingdom of God.

I pray for you, in every race you attempt in life you shall possess a good prize in Jesus name. In every race of life you embark on, you must be determined and focused.

You must uphold a strong vision and mission both physically and spiritually. You must discipline yourself in all ways and you must be ready to make sacrifices.

During the race you would encounter many obstacles: sorrow, challenges, disappointment, temptation, delay, sickness, struggle, suffering and many more. You will make mistakes.

Be grateful for both, your obstacles and mistakes will be your greatest teachers. And the only way to not make mistakes in this life is to do nothing, which is the biggest mistake of all.

While running the race to win the prize, distractions would come. Things that are not necessary and in some cases are actually harmful to us and to others.

We must strive to get rid of distractions. We need to do all things to God’s glory so that we can overriding goal in life that keeps us on track.

Philippians 3:13-14 “Brethren, I count myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things, which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things, which are before.

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” This is Apostle Paul speaking here.

He was determined to run the race without looking back. He was determined to get the prize by all means.

When you are in a race, the last thing you want to do is look back. Forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead.

There are things that stand as hindrance from obtaining a good prize in life.

Sin is a poison; it is an easy blockage to God’s blessings. Living a worldly life is also a hindrance in obtaining good prizes.

Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Also a life without God will suffer casualties, it would be difficult for such life to win a good prize in life.

What are you striving for in life, what is the purpose of your race?

Is it to get a job or to get married? Are you striving to feed your home or to have your own property?

Are you trying to be righteous in other to please God and get to the kingdom of God?

Never quit, be determined and focused. Most of all, do not be too quick to denounce your sufferings. The difficult road you are called to walk, may, in fact, be your only path to success.
