“It’s crucial that we keep a firm grip on what we’ve heard so that we don’t drift off. If the old message delivered by the angels was valid and nobody got away with anything, do you think we can risk neglecting this latest message, this magnificent salvation? First of all, it was delivered in person by the Master, then accurately passed on to us by those who heard it from him. All the while God was validating it with gifts through the Holy Spirit, all sorts of signs and miracles, as he saw fit.”

Heb 2:1-4- The Message

There are two messages here according to Paul the Apostle – the old message delivered by the prophets, which showed the way God dealt with His people in the Old Testament and the second is the way God has chosen to deal with us today, which is by the new message of grace that Jesus brought.

This Good News is accurately passed on by His Apostles.

We must take heed to the Word of truth spoken by the master as documented and explained to the church by the Epistles in the letters to the church.

“Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later.

But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house.

And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.” (Heb 3:5-6) NLT

The Old Testament is no longer in force. It has accomplished the purpose for which it was given.

It is an illustration of the things that would be accomplished for the church and it must be such.

The prophets are servants of God but the Son Who is God Himself is declaring His word to us today.

Someone may ask, should we stop reading the Old Testament then?

No, we shouldn’t. We need to study it as an illustration of what God is doing in the church today and learn faith from the men of old.

Moses, Elijah, David and the other prophets all had limited knowledge of God.

They could only grasp a glimpse of God’s glory. But in Christ Jesus, we all with opened eyes behold His glory.

Moses, Elijah, David and the other prophets didn’t know what we know today.

We can learn faith from all these great men, but we can’t live like them. Something superior dwells on our inside!

The only way to know the father is through the Son.

You cannot understand God’s true nature without understanding who Christ is.

“I am one witness, and my Father who sent me is the other.” “Where is your father?” they asked.

Jesus answered, “Since you don’t know who I am, you don’t know who my Father is.

If you knew me, you would also know my Father.” (John 8:18-19) NLT

The only way to know the father is through the Son. You cannot understand God’s true nature without understanding who Christ is.

God’s nature has become your nature, you have become a type of Christ to the world.

My challenge to you today is to get deep understanding of who Christ is.

Take time to read the four Gospels, though Jesus operated as an Old Testament Prophet, He spoke a lot about how the new creations would live after His death, burial and resurrection.

Study all the epistles that were written to the church. Find out what Christ came to accomplish for you, and who you have become in Him.

You will never attain your full potential in Christ if you don’t know these things.

The Revelation of Christ is the manifestation of your Glory. The true nature of God is your real nature as a believer!
