Memory Verse: Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 2 Timothy 1:8

Bible Passage: 2 Timothy 2:1-14

Introduction
God is not just willing to use man, but is also committed to achieving His eternal purpose through man. It is a great honour to be called and used by The Holy One of Israel, Who is self-sufficient and knows all things and in Whom all wisdom resides. It is baffling that it is always man, who is not willing to make himself available for God’s use. More often than not, man is unwilling to pay the price or is too selfish and self-centred to make the highly rewarding sacrifice to become a fit and proper vessel for God’s use. Purity and holiness are two key requirements. Pride is the ultimate obstacle.

His Choice
The Lord is absolutely sovereign. Democracy, public opinion and academic qualifications are all extraneous, perhaps even irrelevant to divine choice, Jn.15:19; Acts 1:23-25; Rom.9:10-16, 21; 2 Sam.15:6-7; 2 Kgs.15:5; 2 Tim.4:10; Jn.6:10; Jn.13:18; Acts 9:10-15; 1 Jn.4:10. Nothing goes for nothing. There will always be a cost against benefit ratio. With God, the benefit will always far outweigh the cost. The lesser is blessed by the greater, Hebrews 7:7.

An Open Invitation
“Come unto me all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”, Matthew 11:28. It is a great and open-ended invitation. There is unfettered freedom of choice. Acceptance and rejection is at the absolute discretion of every member of the human race. The Maker and Saviour of the world will only stand outside the door of your heart and knock. He will come in if you open, Revelation 3:20, Isa. 45:22. The invitation can come in a myriad of ways. Destinies and the ultimate destination of man are determined by the response and obedience to this awesome invitation, borne out of love. Your life assignment is waiting for you to open the door of your heart and fully comply with The Master’s instruction. Embrace your life assignment right now, 2 Cor.5: 20; Jn.7:37-38; Rev.3:20; Rev.22:17.

Conclusion
In conclusion, please focus on eternal things above only and not temporal ones below. This world, as we know it, is passing away and the glory thereof. You will find favour and grace and allow Him to use you in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
