The outgoing pupils of Sofunix International College, Iroko Town, Ogun State, have assured the school of upholding the culture of skill and integrity inculcated in them

Head Girl of the 2017/2018 Academic Session, Miss Priscilla Ogunnaike, in her speech during the schools’ graduation and prize-giving ceremony, explained that the graduates was privileged to pass through the school, which placed premium on total development of every child.

She said the college operates a high level of discipline with appropriate sanctions for infringement as part of training for the young ones to be responsible members of the society. She noted that every student must adhere strictly to the core values saying:

“As we embark on another phase of our life, we should never forget the values that had been imbibed in us. We have been trained to be hard working. We must respect constituted authority. We must not be found wanting in both academics and behaviour. We must be bold and not rude.”

In his address, the Proprietor and Chairman, Mr. Sola Oni urged parents to ensure proper monitoring of their children. He explained that today’s children are regarded as the millennial generation, which leverages on the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to do virtually everything.

He said: “They are the generation of Internet. They want answer to every question and they are always in a hurry to get things done in the shortest way. We must imbue them with a high sense of self-discipline and constantly remind them that crime and punishment work together. We must challenge them to come up with suggestions in order to build their sense of worth.”

Corroborating him, the representative of Zonal Education Officer, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, Mr. Olalekan Adeleke warned parents of consequences of failure to cooperate with the school in the child’s overall development, describing parents as one of the major stakeholders.
