Stakeholders who were consulted by the Ogun State House of Assembly have supported the move to turn Moshood Abiola Polytechnic into a degree awarding institution.

This decision was reached at a stakeholders forum organised by the Ogun State House of Assembly on the bill number HB/No.10/OG/2017. The bill, which was an executive bill, is requesting for the establishment of Moshood Abiola University of Technology and others matters that border on administration and discipline of students.

Apart from change of status, stakeholders also want the school to bear a new name that would accommodate existing courses offered by the institution.
Speaking to Campus journalists, the Rector, Prof. Adelanwa Itiola, noted that all staff will be adequately taken care of.

“Before now we have been encouraging them to upgrade their certificates, but even at that, there is no cause for alarm; it is not a time to ridicule anyone. We would adequately take care of every staff welfare,” he said.
