THE 2015 Batch ‘A’ corps members deployed to Taraba State for the national service have all been assigned to serve in the rural communities as classroom teachers.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the 2015 Batch ‘A’ orientation course, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Coordinator, Freeman Tumba, said, “NYSC discourages posting corps members to ministries, banks and parastatals on grounds that those posted to such places are often left redundant throughout their service year. Of all the corps members posted to the state, 90 per cent of them were sent to villages for their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).

“The reason for the posting is to ensure that corps members contribute meaningfully to the educational development of the state during their service year,” he said.
