‘We love our fathers and wish them more strength, success to provide our needs and guide us’

It is for good reasons that a day is set aside to specially celebrate fathers all over the world. As heads of families, they are saddled with the responsibility of steering family affairs properly and successfully in the right direction. Together with the mothers, it is their responsibility to ensure that their children are well cared for, protected, loved and nurtured, so that they become responsible adults, able to contribute to society’s development. As this year’s Father’s Day is celebrated, today, Nigerian children wish their fathers more strength and grace to discharge their fatherly duties.

My dream is to be an author. I love my father so much, because he is a good man, who always attends to my needs. I wish my father long life and a happy Father’s Day. I would want all fathers in the country to pay more attention to their children and help them with their academic works, even during the FIFA World Cup holding in Russia.

I love literature and my plan is to be an on-air-personality (OAP). Fathers should be celebrated because they are caring, protective and always provide guidance. My daddy is a loving man, and anytime he travels, he usually buys things for us. I would love all fathers to be more caring and provide life necessities for their children. Fathers should also fund their children’s education to enable them succeed in life. I think outstanding fathers that are shining example of fatherhood should be recognised and celebrated.
