Digital entertainment – Africa’s next disruption

Ngozi Madueke-Dozie, General Manager of iflix West Africa will be joining a panel of industry-leaders on a webinar hosted by the Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF), a global trade body addressing issues pertaining to the broadening mobile environment.

The webinar, dubbed The Future of Digital Entertainment in Africa, will take place on the 15th of February at 17:00 WAT. The forum will discuss video streaming, social media and the rise of the African entertainment ecosystem in driving exciting new business models across the continent, leapfrogging Western markets.

The panel, consisting of other key influencers – Antos Stella (Content Connect Africa), Peter Verkade (Unitel), Thabiet Allie (Music, Tencent Africa) and MEF’s Tim Green will discuss a variety of interesting topics including:

Building new revenue streams across the mobile ecosystem
The opportunities through VOD/streaming, local content, mobile payments/wallets/direct carrier billing
What can Africa learn from the rest of the world and what can the rest of the world learn from Africa?
The challenges – Cost of data, regulation, disposable income & access to content-ready devices
