Nigerian online marketplace, Efritin.com has called for more trust among Nigerians for online transaction and marketing within the eCommerce space.

Speaking at the first anniversary of Efritin.com, Chief Operations Officer of the firm, Zubair Riaz, disclosed that Nigerians don’t trust online market place as much. “As an online marketer, we had this fear thought in mind and needed to create a service that people can use and add values to their lives.

“We knew Nigeria is a tough market with a lot of competition and at the same time we knew we had the product and team that can pull this off. I would say generally, it has been pretty nice experience and we are where we thought we would be.

“Although the economy has not been supportive and slow, a lot of investors have pulled out from all of different companies but amid all of this, we have been able to pull numbers and within a year, he said.

He noted that there have been lots of challenges within the year. “We budgeted everything for example at different exchange, it is like 33 per cent more, so it has its challenges and at the same time we believe that this is temporary and that Nigeria has the potential to grow and get away with this financial problems.

“The new government is moving in the right direction. It is a matter of trusting and believing in this market and we certainly do that. We would like to go ahead and keep investing in Nigeria because we think it has a bright future and these ups and downs are part of any economy, he said.
