Firm backs cost-based pricing study for broadband

Muyiwa Ogungboye, chief executive officer, Estream Networks, said the recent event on cost study for the determination of cost-based pricing for retail broadband and data services in Nigeria organised by NCC was a testament to the Commission’s determination to stabilise the industry.

He said: “It takes a visionary leader to embark on such sensitive and nationalistic project for the betterment of the industry. We are optimistic that the consultant would do an excellent job and the entire industry is waiting for the outcome of this important exercise.”

Ogunboye noted that the Association of Telecoms Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) had on many occasions, organised events to see how all existing companies operating in the industry can continue to exist as well as make industry more attractive to the prospective investors with the plan to get true cost of providing broadband services.
