The Nigerian technology ecosystem will receive a new round of filip as Ingressive, an investment platform for tech entrepreneurs in Africa with a 5,000-member investor and mentor network focused on innovative African technology, is hosting renowned tech executives and investors as part of a week-long Tour of Tech in Lagos.

Tour of Tech is the latest in a line of events by Ingressive to promote investment and advisory in the Nigerian tech industry. Previous tours have brought in Y Combinator, 500 Startups, and Techstars to Nigeria to meet, partner with and inspire local tech companies and founders.

“We are thrilled to host this diverse group of tech executives in Lagos, “ said Maya Horgan-Famodu, founder and CEO, Ingressive. “Some are here independently as a strictly exploratory opportunity, others from our group are here to close deals.”

Themed Capacity Building, the Tour of Tech will take place in Lagos from November 15th to 20th.

Yvonne Wassenaar, CIO of New Relic, Grieg Coppe, CSO of Intuit, Monique Woodard, Partner of 500 Startups, 5 executives from GitHub are expected to be part of the event.

Coming after the visits of Facebook’s co-founder Mark Zuckerberg in August and that of Y Combinator CEO, Michael Seibel, in September, Horgan-Famodu hoped the tour would open the Nigerian tech ecosystem more to the outside world, stimulate growth and encourage collaboration between local and international tech players.

Analysts are upbeat about the possibilities the tour holds for the country. They believe that Nigeria is not just a consumer of technology, but has become, over the last few years, a country where a youthful population have begun to use technology to create solutions to problems in their society. A fact Horgan-Famodu and her company recognise.

The investors Ingressive invited, she said, “plan to invest, source local talent, partner with interesting organisations and forge lasting relationships with hackers on-ground in a bid to form ties and bridge into the continent”.

As part of the activities of the tour, Ingressive in conjunction with Google Launchpad for Developers, GitHub, and 500 Startups will also host High Growth Summit, a two-day conference centred on teaching African founders how to launch, scale, and fund high growth African businesses.
