Taraba TV set to beat NBC deadline on digitisation

Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has said the process of transforming the state-owned television to a digital station will be completed before June 2017. This is to beat the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC)’s deadline for switchover from analogue to digital.

The governor who disclosed this through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Sylvanus Y. Giwa during an interactive session with journalists in Jalingo, the state capital said the state government signed the contract for the full digitisation of the state television with Pinnacle Communications Limited in December 2015 to ensure that the deadline was met.

He added that the project has attained 90 per cent completion.The governor lauded the efforts of the contractor to complete the project as soon as possible.He explained that a digitalised television and radio for the state would improve quality programming and create employment for the youths.
