Tek Experts partners Microsoft to enhance technology drive

A technology firm, Tek Experts has partnered Microsoft as part of efforts to harness the use of technology for customer service delivery and to support talented tech savvy graduates in Nigeria.

The duo said this collaboration is an investment that would enhance technology drive in the country.

Founder of Tek Experts, Yaniv Natan, said the technology landscape in Nigeria is set to witness a major shift due to the firm’s collaboration with Microsoft to establish a Customer Service and Support (CSS) centre in Lagos.

Natan added that the firm has plans to employ hundreds of young people, who would be ambassador for IT services in its operations as the country already have quality of tech-driven young graduates who only need opportunity to learn and expand in tech world.

Speaking at the Tek Experts Nigeria office launch in Lagos, the Founder said they are committed to implementing reforms in CSS for macroeconomic stability, bearing tangible technological driven results, and laying the foundation for a credible path to fiscal sustainability.

“Tek Experts has a strong track record helping companies manage their business operations and has built a reputation for developing local talent. Through its operations in Costa Rica, USA, Malta, Bulgaria, China and Vietnam, the company has created more than 5000 jobs and helped thousands of people to build long and rewarding careers,” he stated.

On the firm’s commitment to investing in the region and the people, and to raising the profile of Nigeria as an exceptional location for technical talents, Natan said they would provide job opportunities through graduate mentoring and access to expert advisers.

Meanwhile, Country General Manager, Microsoft Nigeria, Akin Banuso said the collaboration is the first in Africa to host a global operation for Microsoft through strategic partnership with Tek Experts.

Stressing that Microsoft’s mission is to empower every individual and organization on the planet to achieve more, he said the partnership would provide the unique opportunity for Nigerian youth to realise their potential and pursue a world-class technical career locally.

“The opportunities this centre holds for Lagos, Nigeria and Africa is huge and we are happy to be the first to bring this to Nigeria. With an unemployment rate in double digits in Nigeria, the centre came at a good time, as it will not only impact positively on technical skills development in Nigeria, but also prove to be the first of many opportunities to bring technical jobs, with career growth, to the continent of Africa. It is a great transformation project that Tek Experts and Microsoft are proud to pioneer,” he added.

Corporate Vice President, Customer Service and Support, Microsoft, Aileen Allkins, said the collaboration is an expansion of the firm as a global model to Nigeria through Tek Experts, which would enhance the support offered to Microsoft’s customers across multiple time zones in EMEA and the east coast of the United States.

He added that the partnership has helped in identifying talented tech genius in Nigeria and would provide additional career opportunities for the local market.
