Confab to prepare youths for leadership positions

Plans have been concluded to engage youths to aspire for leadership positions across sectors in the country. The move, organisers of the conference said, is to equip them for a mentorship programme in politics, business as well as in governance that would go a long way to discourage apathy among them during elections as well as shape their future for effective leadership.

This was stated, ahead of the youth conference, titled: “Freedom 2025”, organised by the youth regional pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Regions 1, 36, and 52 and slated to be held at RCCG, City of David, Trinity Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos June 12, with the theme ‘Leading with Vision’.

Regional Pastor in charge of Region 52, Samuel Olaniyan, urged youths in the country to rise and stop shying away from reality as the future of the nation lies on them.

He urged them to take the bull by the horns and get themselves adequately prepared for both political and business leadership positions for better governance in the country.

“We know that if these youths are properly exposed to what the future holds for them, they would fit in properly as future political leaders as well as taking their positions in the business sector, playing effective leadership roles. The programme is about mentorship in politics, business as well as in governance,” he said.

Also, Youth Pastor in charge of Region 1, Abiola Abioye, said the event was about committing the youth to active participation in politics and to galvanise them to be interested in leadership positions, adding that this would go a long way to discouraging apathy among the youth that usually play out during elections.

Additionally, Pastor Seed Family (PSF) Paul Olaniyan said the event would shape the youth’s future and eventually get the right people to do the right thing in governance.
