THE National Association of Ijaw Female Students (NAIFS) Alumni (Worldwide) has expressed optimism that the appointment of Mrs Ibim Seminitari as the new Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC will enhance the performances of the commission.
In a congratulatory message to Seminitari signed by a lawyer, Mrs Kate Ajuwa, and National President and Publicity Secretary respectively, Miss Roselyn Morayo, the group described the new NDDC boss as a blessing to the Ijaw nation in particular and the Niger Delta in general.
The group stated that Seminitari’s achievements in her days as a journalist were unparalleled, adding that, she has proved that the girl-child in the Niger Delta can excel despite the hardship in the region.
“We are grateful to God that those who actually know the pains of our people are now in charge of NDDC. We are proud that a woman and professional that identified with NAIFS activities by sponsoring poetry and creative awards attached with financial benefits for students in every NAIFS National Convention has been given higher position to work for the good of our region. “It is on record that Seminitari put her soul and everything in her Job as Commissioner for Information in Rivers State making her a reference point. Therefore the NDDC will not experience any dull moment in the pursuit of its mandate to make our region move forward under her,” the group said.
