Folakemi Sebiotimo’s book on motherhood set for launching
A book that presents the practical guide to juggling motherhood, work, and life is set to be launched on August 12.
Written by a Nigerian-British Christian mother, Folakemi Sebiotimo, the book dwells on motherhood and life.
Titled ‘Not just a Mum,’ the motherhood guidebook encapsulates the useful and practical hacks to make your life as a working mum easier.
It gives useful tips and advice on how to go about your work, hobbies, and other interests (faith, fitness, community work, volunteering, side hustles) with having children without constantly getting burnt out and overwhelmed.
The author, who migrated to the United Kingdom as an international student, is an assistant vice president at a top investment bank in London, noted that the biggest frustration for most busy working mums is TIME and wish they had more than twenty-four hours in a day.
Expected to speak at the book launch are a tri-sector leader, Bunmi George, the CEO of Shredder Gang and Emem Nwogwugwu, a Life & Project Management Coach, motivational speaker and CEO La Pax Nigeria.
‘Not just a Mum’ is coming years after Sebiotimo struggled with childcare in 2013 when she returned to work after having her first baby, which led her to create the Notjustamum Facebook community, and her a global supportive community for multi-passionate working mums with over 850 members, comprising of new mums and young mums. She also has an inspirational lifestyle blog, PEACOCKSCANFLY, an outlet to share her lifestyle, motherhood, faith, and career journey to inspire other mums to find joy in their motherhood journey, be their authentic self, and stand out regardless of their circumstance.
Little wonder she was able to put together a book that will help mothers to uncover how to manage their time more efficiently going forward and strive to achieve the elusive work-life balance.
The book stresses the importance of self-care and putting themselves (mothers) first to enable them to find joy in this season of their life.
Not just a Mum provides practical tips on how to re-enter the workforce after taking an extended time out to raise children. Being a working mum is no walk in the park, but it does not mean it has to be difficult.
