LNC holds public lecture in Lagos

The League of Nigerian Columnists (LNC) is set to hold a public event in honour of Nigeria’s leading columnists. LNC is a fellowship of leading columnists dedicated to the nurturing and preservation of a truly democratic and progressive society.

With Security and Human Rights, as theme, Brigadier General S.K. Usman (rtd.) will deliver the lecture.

The event to be chaired by Major General Ike Nwachukwu (rtd.) has Dele Awokoya, Ted Iwere, Kadaria Ahmed and Ayo Obe as speakers, is moderators. There will also be posthumous awards for Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Gbolabo Ogunsanwo and Henry Boyo.

Living legends to be recognised for their service and contributions to the media profession include the Publisher of Vanguard Newspapers, Sam Amuka; Dan Agbese and Haroun Adamu.

Members of the LNC are writers whose columns are published weekly or with reasonable frequency in newspapers and magazines that have full-time editors.

Leading members of LNC include Tola Adeniyi (President), Yakubu Mohammed (Vice President), Ray Ekpu, Agbese, Martins Oloja, Abati, Dare Babarinsa, Ikechukwu Amechi and Anthony Kila (Secretary-General).

The event holds on October 12, at CIAPS, on Akinola Cole Crescent, Ikeja, Lagos.
