The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has engaged Ali Nuhu, a Nollywood actor as the ‘Face of the Consumer’. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ali Nuhu is a popular actor, screen writer and film director

The regulatory body said in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, that the engagement was in affirmation of the declaration of 2017 as the Year of the Consumer.

It said that Nuhu, an actor, screenwriter and film director had produced and directed at least 20 movies. NCC said that Nuhu had also featured in over 100 Nollywood and Kannywood movies.

”This is giving concrete expression to the declaration of 2017 as Year of the Telecom Consumer.

”NCC has lined up series of activities, which will be flagged off on March 15, at the commission’s Head Office by Mr Adebayo Shittu, the Minister for Communications.

”March 15, is the World Consumer Right’s Day and coincidentally Nuhu’s birthday,” it said. The telecommunications umpire said that Nuhu’s engagement in a non-exclusive contract as the Face of the Telecom Consumer was thus historic.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nuhu paid a visit to NCC on March 7 to formalise the engagement. NCC said that by this engagement, Nuhu would feature in handbills, flyers, banners, posters, TV appearances and radio jingles.

It said that Nuhu would also feature on memorabilia and other iconography materials designed by the commission for its series of activities.

The commission said that the activities had been scheduled to sensitise and celebrate the telecommunications consumers as the most central stakeholders of the industry.
