The Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC) and Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) are exploring partnership opportunities to promote African cultural heritage.
The Director-General of CBAAC, Aisha Adamu Augie, recently met with the Managing Director of MOFI, Dr Armstrong Ume Takang, to discuss potential areas of collaboration. Some of the areas they will be looking at for the collaboration are preservation of cultural assets and others.
The duo plan to partner in preserving ‘Our Untold Stories’ of FESTAC’77, making African cultural heritage more accessible globally, generating revenue by exploring revenue streams through the proposed Pan-African Heritage Centre and creating a dollar account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to stage shows worldwide, and CBAAC hopes to establish a modern museum in Abuja, showcasing African cultural heritage and creative works.
Takang emphasised the importance of increasing CBAAC’s global visibility and suggested investing in a structural design for the proposed Heritage Museum.
The meeting concluded with a positive note, as both institutions expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations.
