Five Nigerians named among Global Creative Leaders on 2025 DARE list
Five Nigerians have been recognized on the inaugural DARE (Dream, Act, Reimagine, Empower) List of 44 Next-Gen Black Leaders in Creativity, a global initiative by Black At spotlighting trailblazers shaping the future of advertising, media, entertainment, and technology. The five distinguished Nigerians are Steve Babaeko, CEO, X3M Ideas; Alex Okosi, Managing Director, Emerging Markets, YouTube EMEA; Omawumi Ogbe of Managing Partner, GLG Communications; Sinmi Hughes-Obisesan, Creative Director, LOUD; and Esosa Osagiede, Group Head, Communications and Events, Interswitch Group.
The DARE List celebrates Black executives, agencies, and creatives who are driving industry transformation, fostering inclusive storytelling, and setting new standards for innovation and cultural influence. This year’s honorees represent a diverse group of visionaries whose contributions are reshaping the global creative economy.
These industry leaders have not only excelled in their respective fields but have also paved the way for increased representation and cultural authenticity in the creative space.
Beyond Nigeria, the 2025 DARE List features outstanding Black leaders from across the globe, including: Kimberly Paige – Chief Marketing Officer, BET/Paramount (US); Sbusiso Kumalo – Chief Marketing Officer, African Bank (South Africa); Richard McLeod – Chief Marketing Officer, Merrell (US); Andrea Quaye – Chief Marketing Officer, Heineken (South Africa); Gugu Mthembu – Chief Marketing Officer, Telkom (South Africa); Damon Jones – Chief Communications Officer, Procter & Gamble (US); Tyrona (Ty) Heath – Director, The B2B Institute, LinkedIn (US); Tseliso Rangaka – Chief Creative Officer (Africa Creative Lead), Studio X (WPP/Coca-Cola) (South Africa); and Dora Osinde – Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy (Germany)
Speaking on the significance of this recognition, Peter Ukhurebor, CEO of Black At, said: “The future of creativity lies in diverse voices leading the conversation.
