Regular disinfecting and general domestic hygiene practices are some of the most important factors in preventing most communicable infections and cross contaminations, which is the key message Hypo has been passionately advocating for, to the advantage of all Nigerians.

To further promote this drive and ensure the message gets to everyone, Hypo through its products- Hypo Bleach and Hypo Toilet Cleaner sponsored the just concluded Big Brother Naija show, which undisputedly remains the biggest reality show in Africa.

During the show, Big Brother declared Mondays cleaning and disinfecting day. This was formally announced to keep the house thoroughly disinfected and to further inculcate good hygienic practices in the minds of viewers across Africa and beyond.
A couple of weeks into the show, Hypo introduced a weekly online contest called #HypoHygienemeter, encouraging fans to identify which housemates they considered the most hygiene conscious amongst the rest and housemates who have distinguished themselves in ensuring that every part of the house was kept clean and disinfected.

Through #HypoHygienemeter contest, fans shared screenshots of their favourite Housemates during cleaning/disinfecting process, along with comments on their favourites’ efforts towards sustaining a hygienic environment in the house. Eventually, fans of White Money, Maria, Yousef and Liquorose won prize money for their preferred housemates.

Recently, the entire “Shine ya Eye” housemates were all hosted at Hypo Office in Surulere, where the winners were present to receive their cheques.

According to Brand Manager, Hypo Bleach, Akintayo Akinseloyin, he said through the show, they were able to inspire regular disinfecting practice and domestic hygiene amongst Nigerians. “As a brand, we’re advocating that regular disinfection should be considered as one of the most important aspects of healthy living.”
