In a male dominated world, women have been working assiduously to meet up with the daily demand of breaking the barriers in areas of specialization where men are known to hold sway.

However, each passing day, women are making statements in these areas seemingly controlled by men.

One of such feat is the current effort of Nollywood actress, Victoria Nwogu and her talented director who happens to be a female, Esse “Esse Rocks” Akwawa.

Both women have changed the table with an amazing blend of seriousness and comedy movie entitled, Joe.

This movie which breaks the bias in professional environments and nicely pushing that agenda, is the story of a young girl whose dream is to own her own auto-shop and must fight bigger giants than her male counterparts who are considered better suited for such fields.

From the storyline to the cast, props and general style, the box office hit clearly reflects the theme of this year’s international women’s day which is ‘Breaking the bias.’

The film is a touching one, it is normal to see young people feel out of place because of their choice of careers especially in a world like ours where there are a lot of boxes people are put into, preventing them from truly reaching their potential.

The inspiration from Sandra Aguebor is a good one, many more girls should emulate her and see that they reach their true potentials especially at times like this where entrepreneurship is the order of the dayiIn Nigeria given the economic situation.

The film says “You want to be a female mechanic” why not. Go for It girl!

By all standards, the movie, Joe is a great work.
