Nollywood Actress, Amaka Chukwujekwu has described the recent unleashing of attacks, intimidation and Violence on voters across the federation during the 2023 Presidential and Gubernatorial elections by thugs as a serious danger to our politics and democracy.

According to the talented and beautiful actress, it is very shameful and embarrassing that after 24 years of the democracy we once fought for, Nigerian INEC has not been able to conduct a peaceful election that is void of violence, voters intimidation and suppression.

The actress also called out politicians and parties that resort to the use of criminal elements such as thugs and miscreants to Mal the credibility of our electioneering process, disrupting elections and snatching ballot boxes across the polling units.

She further added: to what gain should we as a country continue to endure these endemic crimes that our elections suffer as those expected to rule us continue to show us bad examples at the poll. How sure are we that our democracy would survive the future, looking at how fast we are eroding values, sanity and peace from the process through which we decide who should lead us.

She further called on Nigerians who allow themselves to be used by the evil politicians as tools of darkness against the unity of Nigeria and our democratic process, to desist from such and be reminded that there will always be a day of judgement for every man’s actions.

On the role of security agencies during the 2023 general elections, she called on the IG of the police to fish out the bad eggs in the force and uphold values that will prevent members of the forces from being complicit in all kinds of electoral fraud and if anyone is found guilty, the judiciary should be allowed to do the needful without corrupt interference, she stated.
