The organisers of the Agrofood & Plastprintpack Nigeria have expressed confidence that this year’s edition has set a new standard for industrial exhibitions in West Africa, following a record-breaking 18.5 per cent increase in attendance.
Hosted by Germany-based fairtrade Messe GmbH, the 10th edition of the yearly event welcomed 2,230 industry professionals to the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, reinforcing its position as a premier platform for innovation in agrofood, plastics, printing, and packaging across West and Central Africa.
In a statement issued by the organisers, the Managing Director of fairtrade Messe, Paul Maerz, noted that this year’s edition not only exceeded expectations but also shows Lagos growing importance as a nucleus of trade, investment, and industrial innovation.
“The success of this 10th edition confirms Lagos as the heartbeat of trade and innovation in West Africa. This event continues to grow as a regional powerhouse, attracting influential decision-makers from both the public and private sectors who are eager to drive sustainable solutions across the value chain.”
The exhibition featured vibrant displays of cutting-edge technologies, high-level networking, and robust international representation. Exhibitors and trade visitors engaged in thousands of targeted business discussions, while 42 conference sessions with 90 speakers offered deep insights into trends, policy shifts, and investment opportunities.
Germany, serving as this year’s guest of honour, led one of the strongest country delegations, alongside national pavilions from the Netherlands, Poland, China, South Africa, and Nigeria. The international presence highlighted a growing global interest in Nigeria’s agro-industrial sector.
According to the organisers, the event saw increased participation from across Nigeria and neighbouring countries, as stakeholders explored new partnerships, technologies, and supply chain solutions. Industry players commended the expo’s role in facilitating cross-border collaboration and spotlighting scalable innovations.
Looking ahead, the Netherlands has been named the guest of honour for the 2026 edition an announcement that underscores the country’s longstanding partnership with Nigeria in sustainable agriculture and food systems.
“The involvement of the Netherlands will open fresh pathways for collaboration, investment, and knowledge exchange,” Maerz added.
The next edition is scheduled for March 24 to 26, 2026, again at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.
