AAUA halts resumption over fear of Coronavirus

The management of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) has directed students and staff of the institution to stay at home for the time being as it has shut down activities till further notice over the fear of COVID-19.

The management of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) has directed students and staff of the institution to stay at home for the time being as it has shut down activities till further notice over the fear of COVID-19.

In a circular by the acting registrar, Mr Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa, he pointed out that the shutdown was in line with the directive of the Ondo State government that all primary, secondary as well as tertiary institutions in the state be closed to prevent the spread of Corona Virus pandemic.

The acting vice chancellor, on behalf of Senate has directed that the university be closed to all categories of students with effect from Friday,  March 20 until further notice.
 
The initial resumption date for students was Monday, March 23 before the indefinite closure. 

The school has therefore enjoined members of the university community to do away with shaking hands, crowded areas and improve in self and family hygiene. 

“Members of the university community are advised to wash their hands regularly, use sanitisers, avoid shaking of hands and crowded areas, as well as engage in improved self and family hygiene”
