Corona Schools’ Trust Council has restated its commitment to deliver world-class education by integrating technology and fostering critical skills through its annual interschool quiz competition.

This year’s event brought together pupils from all Corona primary school branches to compete in English, Mathematics, Science, Minecraft, and General Knowledge, demonstrating its commitment to blending academic excellence with innovative learning.

Participants demonstrated exceptional intelligence, collaboration, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, which has become a platform for showcasing the intellectual abilities of learners.

At the end of the event, Corona Victoria Island School emerged the overall winner, while Corona Ikoyi School secured second place. Corona Gbagada School and Corona Lekki School clinched third and fourth positions, respectively.

The Chief Executive Officer of Corona Schools’ Trust Council, Mrs Adeyoyin Adesina, said the programme was to inculcate in the children the spirit of competing and winning.

“To win, you have to prepare and work as a team. We also teach them how to be gracious in victory and how to handle defeat,” she stated.

Adesina added that the competition serves as a benchmarking tool to evaluate pupils’ learning progress, and ensure consistent standards across all branches.

“Over the years, we’ve observed that the performance is always so close. This underscores the uniformity in teaching and learning across our schools. The computer-based nature of the competition also helps our children adapt to technology, a vital skill for the future.”

She commended both the teaching staff and parents for their dedication and support, saying these have significantly contributed to learners’ success.
