the only child of the Chairman, Tastee Fried Chicken Limited, Mr. Adekunle Adedayo, education stakeholders, friends and family members of the deceased have concluded plans to launch Bunmi Adedayo Foundation (BAF).

The mission of the foundation is to enhance the learning environment of the Nigerian child so as to produce Nigerian citizens imbued with upright character, while its vision is to nurture and equip them with the skills and competencies that would enable them to contribute to national and global communities.

The launch scheduled for Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at MUSON centre, would have Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili as the keynote speaker.

Addressing newsmen on the activities of the foundation Tuesday, member, Board of Trustees of the foundation, Dr. (Mrs.) Doyin Abiola, said the deceased was passionate about children and had organised series of children programmes through the corporate social responsibility programme of the outfit as the executive director of the company.

She said the quest to propagate his wishes prompted the inauguration of the foundation, adding that though his life was brief, he did marvelously well as a young entrepreneur.

She said, “Children are the foundation of every society, if we dont take good care of them, we are deceiving ourselves. Whatever we sow in their lives the society will reap in the future. All that Bunmi wanted was to help children and we are standing firm on that.”

Chairman, board of directors of the foundation, Babatunde Akinleye, remarked that the cardinal aim of the foundation was to improve the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds using educational platforms.
“The foundation will intervene in schools through advocacy for improvement of academic standards, enhancement of the learning environment and promotion of a sense of universal civic responsibility in the children,” he said.

On her part, Mrs. Yemisi Adedayo, stressed that the project strategy is to identify a school that met the foundation’s criteria, work on it holistically until it is thoroughly transformed to produce a total and balanced child.
