MAPOLY Rector, others to speak at MAPALUM event

Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Dr Adekoyejo Jolaoso, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the inaugural Officers Training School (OTS) organised by the Lagos chapter of the MAPOLY Alumni Association (MAPALUM).

The training, designed for the newly elected officers of MAPALUM Lagos chapter, will be held on May 1, 2025, under the theme, “Becoming a Purpose-Driven Alumni.”

A statement by Chairman of the Lagos chapter of MAPALUM, Gafar Odubote, stated that Jolaoso, for his expertise in human management and leadership, was strategically selected to deliver the keynote address titled “Building a Purpose-Driven Alumni and Achieving Synergy with the Institution.”

According to Odubote, the training aims to foster transformative leadership, deepen strategic alumni engagement, and equip newly elected officers with the vision, tools, and frameworks necessary for intentional and empathetic leadership aligned with institutional goals.

“This training is a call to purpose – a reminder that intentional leadership must be anchored in clarity and strategy. Our alumni body thrives on the strength of its leadership’s vision. The officers training school creates a shared understanding of roles, responsibilities, and expectations, laying the foundation for an impactful, inclusive alumni association,” Odubote said.

However, the training will feature other seasoned facilitators and thought leaders delivering interactive sessions on leadership, strategy, alumni development, and institutional synergy.

Meanwhile, the Event Committee Lead and Vice Chairman of MAPALUM Lagos chapter, Fadeke Omo-Omorodion, emphasised the significance of the training as a foundational step towards achieving the chapter’s leadership goals.

“This training is more than a formality; it is the cornerstone upon which excellence will be built. It aligns us with a shared vision and provides the leadership toolkit required to transition ideas into actionable strategies,” Omo-Omorodion stated.
