MCIU receives full accreditation for six academic programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Agbarha-Otor, Delta State, full accreditation for six programmes.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Agbarha-Otor, Delta State, full accreditation for six programmes.The programmes included; Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Banking & Finance, and Biochemistry.

The accreditation exercise began on November 2, 2018, with the arrival of the first set of NUC accreditation team led by Prof. Asahaolu. For four weeks, over 15 professors were at the institution to inspect facilities, curriculum and publications.

According to the vice chancellor, Prof Ibiyinka Fuwape, the NUC teams were impressed with the university environment, library, laboratories and state-of-art facilities. They commended the university management for a job well done, justifying the huge amount of money that has been invested in infrastructure, thereby ensuring excellence in every department.

“MCIU’s accreditation is a huge achievement, because, we are graduating our first set of students in September 2019 and we are now sure that they will be mobilised for the NYSC programme.

Prof. Fuwape commended the visitor to the university, Dr. Cecilia Ibru, board of trustees, the Pro chancellor, Prof. Peter Hugbo and other members of the council and enjoined everyone not to rest on their oars bearing in mind that “we are all on a quest for excellence in a changing world.”
