NYSC inaugurates new staff quarters in Ondo camp

• Brigade commander hails NYSC on unity, development

Director-General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim (rtd) recently inaugurated its senior staff quarters at Ondo State orientation camp, Ikare-Akoko.

The facility, which contains nine ensuite rooms, was constructed by NYSC with support from national headquarters.

Ibrahim commended the state coordinator, Mrs. Victoria Ani, for her thoughtfulness in putting up the edifice, adding that the initiative was in line with his administration’s policy on improved welfare for corps members and staff.

The DG reaffirmed the management’s commitment to ensuring the provision of a conducive environment for smooth conduct of orientation course and other aspects of the scheme’s operations. Ani thanked the NYSC management for supporting the project

The DG also used the occasion to address corps members at the orientation camp. He enjoined them to avail themselves of the opportunity for self-employment provided through Skills Acquisition Entrepreneurship Department (SAED), while also stressing the need to be security-conscious.

MEANWHILE, the Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Brigadier General Muktar Adamu, has lauded the contributions of NYSC to national unity and development.

Adamu, who noted that the scheme was a veritable platform for instilling the spirit of patriotic service in youths, commended corps members serving in the Brigade for adding values through their primary assignments. He assured that the Brigade would continue to support NYSC formations within its area of responsibility.
